We have the most annoying fire alarms in the world! If you want to hear them watch this short informational video I found from the keele security team.. it is the most annoying sound in the world and soooo loud!
Anyway, I had the pleasure of hearing that beautiful sound at about 3:50am this morning! We all rushed out our rooms half dressed and collided in the corridor, picking ourselves up we moved towards the exits in a calm and orderly manner.. stood freezing outside in the cold, the fire engines were here in about ten minutes and the police about five minutes after that. So the fire alarm went off, fine, that's good, I'd sooner be outside in the cold for an hour than burn to death but here comes the rant: once we were finally allowed to go back inside and had to move threw the carpark in order to do so, driver of the security van started beeping his horn and shouting as he tried to reverse threw the crowd, he could have waited three minutes and everyone would have got back inside without the risk of being run over but this ass hole ended up being stuck there for about ten minutes because his three-point-turn ended up cutting off the route threw the carpark everyone was taking and meant everyone had to get passed pretty much single file as the driver shouted at the crowd. Anyway, as soon as I got back in I tracked down the head of the security team and reported the incident in my most polite but outraged tone! lol :)
Anyway, went to bed about 6:30 and ended up sleeping until about 3:30 - good 9 hours of sleep there, just like the doctor always says! :D

We had a Protest! I say 'we', in fact I didn't find out about it until yesterday afternoon, about 8hours after it took place but between the hours of 8 and 10 (I believe), all of the car-parks on the Keele Campus were blocked by protesting students not letting any of the lecturers drive their cars in - apparently the police were called.. and what were these students hoping to achieve? To have Wednesdays free for sports? It seemed odd that they chose a monday to protest about wednesdays but what do I know about protests? :)

Mouse (Le Petit Souris): Turns out the fire was started by someone who had left a pan on the cooker since 8pm and at about 2:30 it finally burst into flames! No damage to the building as far as I'm aware but crikey! Perhaps our fire-starters were making eggs too.. :)
Urgh! It's 3:16am and some little f*cker set the fire alarm off! We just got back having been huddled outside Holly Cross (our house) in the cold for 40minutes!
I grabbed a coke on the way out the door, (Diet with Cherry, which took me by supprise) which is why I've chosen to blog rather than get some sleep! (the caffeine will wear off soon I hope!
What have I been up to today? (and for the last few months? - sorry I've been a slacker on the blog - I'll do better I promise!) anyway, I made some little tiny fairy cakes (bite size) went to see Sim and while Robin was talking to her I hid them all over her room :) - in fact I just saw her outside and she told me she'd found and eaten most of them, including the one in her shoe.. hehe.. Oh.. and then Robin and I made a multi-coloured cake! Photos of which will be on my flickr before soon!
I've got a tutorial at 10am so I've got to be up for that, though I think I may now move my alarm from 8 to 8:30 as it's a little late..
Anyway, little and often eh? - I'll get back up on my blogging - I do love it so!
